Project Profile

Codicote, as appointed by Built, provided Construction Planning and Construction Advice for The Hotel Windsor Redevelopment. The proposed complex redevelopment of this 1883 heritage four storey hotel comprised demolition of the main floors and the extension building, which dates back to the 1960’s. Our redevelopment scope was focused on carefully and appropriately retaining the existing heritage facade of the building, whilst delivering world class new amenities.

A four level basement would be excavated and constructed, which will house the new Pool and Spa, including provision for new plant and equipment - chillers, substation and other critical upgraded works.

A new 27 storey tower would be constructed within the existing footprint of the building to expand the total key offering to 227 rooms with an additional two penthouses. This complex construction would be undertaken whilst The Hotel Winsor continuously operated 24-7 for its valued customers.

Codicote’s involvement was to provide construction advice and construction planning expertise for Built to secure the early project offering and services to the Halim Group. Our construction advisory offering included protecting and maintaining a heritage listed feature in the hotel inclusive of the grand ballroom and heritage listed central staircase, devising a logistic staging strategy that would work within the confined nature of the hotel footprint and also the Citi power substation rework re-route and decommission.

Codicote provided written methodology scope for the project which details the key considerations and links between all elements of the project describing risks and mitigation measures associated with the redevelopment.
