Project Profile
The Rialto redevelopment project consisted of a new high-end foyer and concierge featuring a 9-metre-high glass wall installation with integrated lighting. Staged work fronts and handovers were critical to allow each section to be completed whilst ensuring full access to each of the two towers throughout the build.
The project added new commercial space to the development whilst physically connecting the towers with multi-storey link bridges some two storeys above the main plaza. This high traffic thoroughfare was a key business driver in developing the project.
Codicote successfully assisted Built at tender stage in developing a unique solution and construction programme for the complex demolition and staging into the existing towers. As well as deriving a fully integrated construction programme complete with methodology, staging, and logistics, Codicote completed 3D and 2D stage plans to provide an integrated and simplistic representation to guide stakeholders through this complex redevelopment.
Codicote was retained as part of Built’s project team undertaking weekly programme updates, which included integrated programme tracking and expediting procurement with the site team. Codicote also continued to provide construction advice including mitigation measures and construction recommendations.
Staging of the art grid shell canopy was a major logistical operation, timed to accurately coincide with access changes and stage handovers. This facilitated the release of new construction areas and the installation of two new escalators, complete with a weatherproof entrance.
