Project Profile

The University of Melbourne has embarked on a once-in-a-generation development to redefine the location of the heart of the Parkville Campus. Encapsulating nine buildings, the Precinct’s building heritage dates back to the 1880s, with each building distinct to an architectural style and unique era. The Project is committed to co-creating this space with a broad range of stakeholders including students, staff, University business units and faculties, as well as the broader local community.

Codicote was appointed to assist with the projects master construction programme which included staging, logistics and methodology in 2016, which supported the development of the projects business case. Our programme complemented the strategy to grow the campus in order to cater for an even greater diversity of best scholars and students, to further enhance The University of Melbourne’s global ranking as a tertiary learning and research centre of excellence.

Codicote provided inputs to the University’s Major Projects Team to assist with the writing of the NSP business case in 2017 and assisted NSP consultants during the feasibility stage, offering construction advice and construction planning. Our support role also included the selection and appointment of other project consultants with a focus on the procurement of the builder for the complex early and enabling works that commenced on site in early 2018.
