    Gateway Plaza Refurbishment of the existing 1 Macquarie Place retail precinct asset is linked to DEXUS creating a versatile and contemporary harbour side eating landmark venue to serve all customer bases, including office customers, residents and visitors. Codicote’s Founder and Managing Director, Dave Jenkins, has a long association with the property due to his involvement in the original construction.

    DEXUS repositioned the asset to respond to a forecast growth in the resident population in Sydney CBD, which was expected to grow to 35,000 people by early 2016. This repositioning enabled focus on the extension of trading hours whilst introducing more quality affordable dining options. Our scope of services included managing enhancements on levels 4 to 10 covering:

    • Reconfiguration and refurbishment of existing retail spaces
    • Enhanced food and beverage offering
    • End of trip bike storage facilities
    • Inclusion of a lobby cafe
    • Extension of floor plate
    • New works for future outdoor facility
    • Demolition of existing glazed atrium roof structure
    • Retention of facades on levels 8 to 10 whilst achieving waterproofing and structural modifications
    • Public domain enhancement works to Alfred Street and Loftus Street frontages
    • Public domain works to Jessie Street Gardens
    • Achieve BCA compliance to levels 4 to 8, new or refurbished areas only
    • Refurbishment of existing spaces for the provision of infrastructure and back of house tenancy services
