Project Profile

The Codicote planning team was appointed by the main contractor during the tender process to prepare the tendered design and construction programme, site logistics plans and construction methodology.

The project involved constructing in challenging geotechnical conditions and traffic management considerations were a central part of the understanding of the project. The mixed-use development also had varying structure and finishes requirements depending on the planned final use of each of the separated parts of the building.

As part of the development requirement, the handover of the building was to be completed in three distinct stages which involved considerable pre-planning to test and achieve this strategy.

Standing at 115m tall, the 36-storey development is set to become a striking architectural statement with its combination of 330 stylish one and two bedroom apartments set atop a 16 storey hotel, the 4.5 star PARKROYAL Melbourne. Each apartment has panoramic, floor to ceiling double glazing with opening sections for natural ventilation. The two-bedroom apartments are able to enjoy the option of wind protected wintergardens or opening them up into high level viewing balconies.

The PARKROYAL Melbourne will offer 266 beautifully furnished rooms, a restaurant and lounge, gymnasium, lap pool and meeting spaces. It is also one of the first hotels in Melbourne Docklands targeting an Award of Merit under the Docklands Ecologically Sustainable Development Guide.
